Commissions & Committees
The Jackson County Planning Commission (JCPC), which is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on land-use applications in the unincorporated area of Jackson County outside of the WCUUC. The JCPC is also responsible for rendering final decisions on subdivisions and planned unit developments in the County. Finally, the JCPC is responsible for developing amendments to the Jackson County Comprehensive Plan and Jackson County Land Development Ordinance.
The Jackson County Board of Commissioners (BoC) makes final decisions on land-use applications after receiving a recommendation from either of the two planning commissions. The BoC also makes final decisions on amendments to the Jackson County Comprehensive Plan and Jackson County Land Development Ordinance upon recommendation from the JCPC.
The Marijuana Advisory Committee provides recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners (Board) on issues related to marijuana, including issues presented by the production, processing, wholesaling, and distribution of marijuana in the unincorporated County.
