Jackson County Roads is focused on maintaining our public road system and we are out working almost every day of the year. From big projects to small, this work can have an impact on motorists, and therefore we want to tell you what is happening and where we plan to be working. Please note the information here is a snapshot of what we expect to be happening, yet is subject to change due to weather and other variables.

Immediately below is information on our larger projects with a brief description of what is occurring and any important updates. If you have questions about our long-term or short-term projects, please send us an email or give us a call at 541.774.8184.

Active Capital Projects

Foothill Road Widening (Delta Waters Rd to Dry Creek Road)
  • Starting July 15, 2024 a portion of Foothill Road will be temporarily closed to thru traffic between the intersections of Coker Butte Road and Dry Creek Road.  This closure of  Foothill Road will be in place until early September 2024.  Expect congestion in the area.  Emergency service providers have been notified.  Local traffic will use detour routes including East Vilas Road, Crater Lake Avenue and Coker Butte Road.
  • Started in 2023, our contractor Knife River has already completed a significant section between Delta Waters Road and extending north toward Coker Butte Road.
  • Summer 2024 will see completion of the work from just south of Coker Butte Road to just north of Dry Creek Road.
  • Expect delays up to 20 minutes and avoid the area altogether using alternate routes if possible.

Table Rock Road - Medford Water Commission waterline
  • Installation of a new 42" waterline.
  • Project completion is in 2025 so expect a long-term project along this corridor.
  • Work spans between East Vilas Road and Kirtland Road with multiple work zones in various areas along the entire length.
  • Slow down, watch for workers, and drive safely without distractions.

 Antelope Road - ADA Curb Ramp Upgrades
  • Installation of new curb ramps at 21 select locations between Pacific Avenue and 11th Street in White City.  Work began the week of June 10th.
  • Project completion is expected in August 2024.
  • Watch for temporary lane closures - use caution when merging
  • Minimal impacts to traffic flow, however pedestrian and bicycle/shoulder impacts are expected.
  • Slow down around these work areas.

Upcoming Capital Projects

Foothill Road Culvert Work (3 locations south of Corey Road) - Planned for Summer 2024
  • Drainage and irrigation culverts crossing under Foothill Road will be widened.
  • Traffic control may involve temporary closures with detours to allow the work to be accomplished safely and quickly.
Bridge #431 on Butte Falls Prospect Road crossing South Fork Rogue River - Planned for Summer 2024
  • Bridge deck repairs will be made to this structure by removing damaged sections and replacing deck materials as needed.  Expect some intermittent delays with flaggers controlling traffic.
  • Work is expected to begin in late August 2024
