The Clean Marina Program is managed by the Oregon State Marine Board and provides a mechanism for public and private marinas in the state of Oregon to be recognized for their efforts towards environmentally responsible marina management. To voluntarily qualify as a Clean Marina, facilities must undergo an inspection and maintain compliance with existing environmental regulations. Additionally, a high percentage of recommended best practices in marina management must be utilized to minimize impacts on the water body and promote environmentally sustainable operations.  According to the Oregon State Marine Board, 62 marinas in the state are certified as Clean Marinas, including Joseph Stewart County Park, out of a total of 175 facilities. Once designated, facilities are routinely inspected to maintain compliance with the program regulations.

“Jackson County Parks is very proud to have gone through the process with the Oregon State Marine Board at Joseph Stewart Park to be certified as a Clean Marina.  Park management is committed to responsible stewardship of the facility,” says Steve Lambert, Roads and Parks Director.

With Lost Creek lake now at 96% full, the marina is expected to be very busy this summer. The park offers pontoon boat, fishing boat, stand up paddle board, and kayak rentals, in addition to boat moorage space. Guests wanting to rent boats are encouraged to contact the Jackson County Parks office at (541) 774-8183 to make reservations.
